Ensuring That the Oil and Gas Find is a Blessing and Not a Curse for Ghana:

An improved knowledge and awareness of the potential opportunities and challenges associated with the oil find; ii. Building of institutions to reduce the adverse effects of the Dutch Disease specifically to turn the Private Sector Advisory Committee into a deliberation council with a technical secretariat; and to engage with CSOs and the State to analyze issues relating to policy formation and implementation; iii. Increased transparency, accountability and responsiveness, through the implementation of policy, in respect of oil and gas operations. 1. Create awareness through evidence-based advocacy and networking with relevant stakeholders of the impending Dutch disease. This will be done through monitoring of macroeconomic indicators. 2. Reduced cost of doing business in Ghana, thereby improving the country's external competitiveness and promoting expanded exports in non-traditional and import-competing sectors.
