The celebrated English writer, Alan Watts, once said, "The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance." Embracing this philosophy, we are delighted to announce that Alhaji Amidu Ibrahim-Tanko, Executive Director of the STAR-Ghana Foundation, was honored with a special plaque in May 2024 for his unwavering support of the Social Entrepreneurship and Philanthropy (SEaP) conference.
This conference is a cornerstone of the Development Management course within the SEaP Programme at KNUST-IDL. Alhaji Tanko’s dedication and commitment have been instrumental in guiding our students and enhancing the impact of their projects.
The SEaP course is a pivotal component of our Development Management curriculum, requiring students to engage deeply with real-world problems and create actionable solutions to uplift their communities. The conference serves as the culmination of their hard work, where students present innovative solutions to local community challenges, showcasing their dedication to fostering positive change.
"My colleagues and I, along with the leadership of the Development Management program, came together to honor Alhaji Tanko, acknowledging his significant contributions and support. His mentorship and guidance have empowered our students to think critically and act compassionately, truly embodying the spirit of social entrepreneurship," said Zulyaden Amadu, a Planning Committee Member of the conference.
The students also expressed their gratitude to Alhaji Tanko for his "invaluable support" and commitment to their change-driven projects. His recognition by both students and program leadership underscores the importance of collaboration in driving social change.
Together, we celebrate these collective efforts and look forward to continuing our journey towards transformative initiatives.
