STAR-Ghana Foundation in partnership with The Speaker of Parliament’s Secretariat organized a two (2) day workshop on Team building and orientation on the implementation of the Corporate Strategic Plan of Parliament of Ghana at the Aqua Safari Resort on the 17th and 18th of April 2021.
With support from the STAR Ghana Foundation, the 7th Parliament developed a Corporate Strategic Plan. The five-year Plan of Parliament (2019-2023) documents the strategic priorities of Parliament over the medium-term, focusing on building the capacity of Members of Parliament and the staff of the Parliamentary Service to be responsive to the internal and external service delivery responsibilities of the legislative body, whilst consolidating Ghana’s democratic development.
The objective of this workshop was to support the rollout of Parliament’s Corporate Strategic Plan through the 2021 annual programme of work of the Office of the Speaker and to promote an integrated approach to task achievement and team effectiveness.
At the opening event, the Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament, Alban Kingsford Bagbin entreated all participants to take the training seriously and that, the leadership of Parliament will be depending on their efficient and effective support to be able to manage the affairs of Parliament.
The Executive Director of the STAR-Ghana Foundation, Mr. Ibrahim-Tanko Amidu reiterated that the Foundation since 2010, has been committed to partnering with Parliament on strengthening the institutional capacity of parliament to effectively deliver on its legislative, representative, and oversight roles.
The workshop was attended by the Clerk of Parliament, Mr. Cyril Nsiah, and 24 members of the Speaker’s Secretariat.
