Daniel Kwame Ampofo Adjei

Daniel Ampofo Adjei, SMS Voices Manager, brings on board, eight years of experience in formative research (qualitative and quantitative) that support the identification and prioritization of problems, and in the design of projects. He has experience in the design of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning frameworks.

Daniel has demonstrable interest in and aptitude for technology, as well as a firm and consistent up to date knowledge and experience of Social Media tools and ICT applications for development work. He is responsible for the conceptualization, design, implementation and management of the STAR-Ghana short message system (SMS) platform - a digital platform that enables trained citizen representatives in remote and marginalised communities to open instant dialogues with local government officials and other state actors via SMS.

Daniel has been admitted to the degree of Master of Philosophy (NGO Studies and Community Development) at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, where he also had his Bachelor of Science degree. He has professional training in Project Monitoring and Evaluation from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and an ICT Certificate in Microsoft Office and Software Application from the Institute of Computer Technology, Ghana.

Daniel is the principal author of the research paper: “Use of Social networking websites among NGOs in the Greater Accra region of Ghana” published by the Public Relations Review Journal. He is a principal author of eight policy papers that were borne out of research conducted to identify priority needs of private actors within the Ghanaian and Nigerian rice value chains. The evidence based policy papers serve as advocacy tools for engagement with the public sectors of Ghana and Nigeria.

Daniel has previously worked as Management information system (MIS) Manager at Hopeline Institute, a Ghanaian NGO funded by Partners Worldwide, USA. He has also worked as an independent consultant for Ghana Grains Council, Farm Radio International and the John A. Kufuor Foundation.
